Honest Abe Ensemble: Elementary Students Perform Prior To School Board Meeting

1 min read
Students at Lincoln Elementary School performed prior to Tuesday’s meeting of the Jamestown School Board. Students in the classes of Mrs. Mayer, Ms. Neumann, Mrs. Velazquez and Mrs. Whitacre were part of the performance, “Abe’s Way Makes Sense,” that was directed by Catherine South. Students sang “On Our Way to Awesome” and “I Like the Colors of the Fall” before ending with a rendition of the school’s song. Afterward, Paul Abbott, school board president, praised the students, all of whom wore matching blue shirts featuring Abraham Lincoln. “We don’t get to smile enough at our board meetings,” Abbott said. “It’s great to start a board meeting with a smile. It’s wonderful to hear you, and I can already imagine some of you in our A Cappella Choir some day at the high school.” P-J photo by Eric Tichy
