Honest John’s 2nd Street Location Not Closing

Honest John's Pizzeria is not closing its 1245 E. Second St. location.
"We are running extremely strong," said owner John Raymond.
Raymond said September was the busiest September he has ever experienced.
Raymond noted that he has known for about a month of sale of his other location at 995 Fairmount Ave., in West Ellicott.
"I have decided not to pursue or reopen that location," Raymond said.
There have been rumors that both locations are closing, but the owner said that employees from the West Ellicott location have been reassigned to the East Second Street location.
"We are alive and well," Raymond said.
As reported in The Post-Journal on Friday, plans for a Take 5 Oil Change have been announced for 995 Fairmount Ave. Andy Johnson, an engineer with EcoStrategies, and Mike Haigh, owner and developer of Quattro Development, went before the Ellicott Zoning Board in September to discuss the project.
Johnson said the building currently standing will be demolished to make way for a 1,610-square-foot oil change business. He also noted that one of the two entrances from Fairmount will be removed to "increase safety."
"The dough is still rising at (East) Second Street," Raymond noted.
