Raid Nets Drugs, City Man

Carlos J. Gonzalez- Diaz

A three-month investigation into narcotics sales at 36 VanBuren St. in Jamestown resulted in charges against a city man.

Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department and the Dunkirk Police Department executed a search warrant Wednesday. A search warrant by the Jamestown Police Department had been executed on May 5 at the same residence. At that time, three individuals were charged with possession of narcotics.

On Wednesday, entry was made into the residence by the Jamestown Police SWAT. Carlos J. Gonzalez-Diaz, 39, was outside the residence at the time of the execution and he attempted to flee the area. Gonzalez-Diaz was quickly taken into custody by narcotics investigators. Investigators believed Gonzalez-Diaz had discarded items while he was attempting to flee.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s K-9 searched the outside area where Gonzalez-Diaz had run and the K-9 was able to locate several packages of fentanyl. Investigators seized 1.7 grams of fentanyl and $331. Gonzalez-Diaz was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and he was transported to the city jail to be arraigned on his charges.
