Police Seek Woman Who Made Threat To School District
WESTFIELD — An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman who allegedly made a threat against Westfield Academy and Central School last week.
In a statement, the Westfield Police Department said it was notified at 11 a.m. Friday that a call had been made to a school district employee.
“We were informed that over the course of this phone call, the individual calling made a threat of violence towards the entire student and staff population,” Westfield Police Chief Corbin Meleen said in a statement. “The threat came from an outside source and was not a student at the district.
“As a precautionary method, WACS went into a lockout and the Westfield Police Department increased their presence on school grounds to ensure safety while conducting the investigation.”
Police identified the person who allegedly made the threat as 43-year-old Brenda L. Horr, who has no known residence.
“In conjunction with the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, an arrest warrant has been issued for her arrest,” Meleen said.
Horr is wanted on charges of making a terroristic threat and second-degree aggravated harassment.
The chief said it is working with “multiple law enforcement agencies” to locate Horr.
“As we continue our search, you will see an increased law enforcement presence at the district,” he said.
Anyone with information regarding Horr’s whereabouts is asked to call Westfield police at 716-326-3375 or the county 911 dispatch center at 716-753-2131.
