Cassadaga Sets Summer Concert Schedule

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Lakes Summer Concert Series is just around the corner, with plenty of acts and festivities for residents and visitors alike. All events, which were announced by the Citizens for a Better Cassadaga, are sponsored by a NY Statewide Community Regrant administered by Art Services, Inc., the Village of Cassadaga and the Cassadaga Lakes Association, free of charge.

Beginning Wednesday, June 21, the annual Strawberry Social will take place on Cassadaga Beach with the Cassadaga Area Concert Band playing from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Shortcakes are free, but donations are appreciated.

The remaining concerts are on Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the floating stage. Pedro and the Smooth Cats, a classic rock, oldies, blues and jazz band, will perform June 25. Next, Nashville recording artist Sean Patrick McGraw performs July 9. On July 23, Acoustic Ear Candy will perform a variety pop, rock, and country music songs. Then on Aug. 6, Ion Sky will perform from its own variety of rock, country, pop and alternative music. Osborn Nash, a country, folk, and pop act, will perform Aug. 20. The concert series concludes with Party McFly on Sept. 3, featuring dance music across multiple decades.

Back by popular demand, there will be a local artist and author featured at each concert to display their work, which will be available for purchase. The authors’ and artists’ lineup is in progress and will be announced at a later date.

Super Duper Catering will be at each concert, except for the opening event June 21. Guests can also bring their own food and drinks. Picnic tables are available, or guests can bring their own chairs or blankets.

Cassadaga Beach is located on Park Avenue, featuring a lakeside park with a playground, volleyball, and tetherball available for use during the concerts. Lifeguards will be on duty for swimming.

Guests are also welcome to come by water, as there is plenty of room around the floating stage for kayaks and boats of any size. Beach parking is limited, so guests may also park at the nearby library, church or firehall.

In case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved to Cassadaga Fire Hall or the American Legion Post 1280. Call (716) 665-8855 for more information.
