Bicentennial Celebration Continues At Stateline Speedway
The event for the town of Busti’s Bicentennial Celebration is coming up on Saturday at Stateline Speedway.
The town is participating in the evening’s program, featuring a $4,500 to win, 40-lap Super Late Model Feature race that features the one-third mile dirt track’s longest running division. A number of the area’s top late model drivers are expected to take part. Jesse Robbins, Busti town supervisor, said $3,000 of the winning purse is being put up by Steve Dahlgren with Creative Kitchens, who is also a town of Busti native who now lives in Arizona.
The town will have activites at the track, including a parade early on in the evening’s program featuring primary sponsor, the Shults Auto Group.
In addition to the Super Late Models the program will include full programs for the track’s RUSH Crate Late Models, UMP Modifieds, RUSH Pro Mods, Pro Stocks and Challenger Divisions. The grandstands open at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students 13-17 as well as senior citizens and veterans. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.
Stateline is one of Busti’s most historic locations, having been founded in 1956 on Kortwright Road by Lloyd Williams, Don and Jerry Frank, Leonard Briggs and Marv Thorpe. Stateline is currently owned by legendary Late Model driver Jim Scott, and his wife, Jean.
