Reg Lenna Center To Show Chevalier, Big George Foreman
Chevalier and Big George Foreman will be shown this week at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.
Chevalier (today at 7 p.m.) is inspired by the incredible true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr. in a tour de force performance) rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with an ill-fated love affair and a falling out with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and her court. Chevalier is rated PG-13 and is 107 minutes long.
Big George Foreman (Friday at 7 p.m.) is based on the true story of one of the greatest comebacks of all time and the transformational power of second chances. Fueled by an impoverished childhood, Foreman channeled his anger into becoming an Olympic Gold medalist and World Heavyweight Champion, followed by a near-death experience that took him from the boxing ring to the pulpit. But when he sees his community struggling spiritually and financially, Foreman returns to the ring and makes history by reclaiming his title, becoming the oldest and most improbable World Heavyweight Boxing Champion ever. Big George Foreman is rated PG-13 and is 138 minutes long.
Upcoming Movies at The Reg include Owen Wilson in the artworld comedy Paint (June 7 at 7 p.m.), the family film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie (June 9 at 7 p.m., and a Sensory Friendly showing June 10 at 2 p.m.) and a 30th anniversary special engagement of Richard Linklater’s high school comedy, Dazed and Confused (June 14 at 7 p.m.)
Tickets to Movies at The Reg are $7 for movies and $6 for family films, with an additional $1 theater restoration fee added. Special movie engagements are priced differently.
