Cherry Creek Readies For Christmas Weekend

CHERRY CREEK — As the old song says, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”

It all begins Sunday at the Trillium Lodge for “Lunch With Santa” and continues into the late afternoon and evening with the memorial Christmas Tree ceremony in the Memorial Park Gazebo.

The day begins at noon in the Trillium Lodge, 6830 Main St. in the hamlet, as families and kids of all ages gather for “Lunch With Santa.” There are sittings for lunch between the hours of noon-3p.m.; $15 includes a lunch buffet, a gift and photograph with Santa.

Seating is limited and reservations, which are required, may be made by calling 716-296-1032.

The annual Memorial Christmas Tree Lighting and Bow Hanging Ceremony will begin at 5pm. It is a time to “remember loved ones no longer with us” as bows displaying the names of loved ones will be hung upon the tree. Bows must be ordered. Forms are available at The Trillium Lodge, NHS Hardware, Big Eddie’s, Heart and Soul Cafe, and the Cherry Creek Branch of the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union.

Each bow costs $5, and the bow colors include purple for all cancers ($1 going to cancer research), red, white and blue for veterans ($1 going to the PVVFW), and red for pets (with $1 going to Chautauqua County Humane Society), and gold for all other loved ones. Proceeds from all bow purchases will benefit the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc.

All are welcome to join their friends, neighbors and families to kick-off the Holiday Season.
