Man Who Left Scene Of Fatal Motorcycle Crash Charged
CLYMER — A Pennsylvania man who reportedly left the scene of a crash that killed a motorcyclist is facing several charges.
New York State Police, working with its counterparts in Pennsylvania, announced the charges to 32-year-old Slater R. Lindstrom of Corry.
Troopers out of the Jamestown police barracks responded around 2:40 p.m. Saturday to Marvin and Belknap roads near Clymer for a crash involving a motorcycle.
An investigation found that a 2012 GMC Sierra traveling south on Marvin Road missed a turn for Belknap Road. The GMC began to back up, at which time a 2000 Harley Davidson operated by Andrew E. Howard, 63, of Erie, Pa., and also traveling south on Marvin, struck the back of the GMC.
Howard was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the crash, the GMC left the scene.
Working with Pennsylvania State Police, Lindstrom was eventually identified as the driver of the truck. He was scheduled to appear in court later on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal collision, unlicensed operator and reckless driving.
The state police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in the investigation.
