A verbal agreement between two business owners is not coming to fruition.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Patient’s Pharmacy in Jamestown was going to purchase Inkley Pharmacy in Randolph. However, on Thursday, Patient’s Pharmacy posted on its Facebook page that “Unfortunately, after further negotiations, we were unable to come up with a mutually beneficial agreement with Inkley’s Pharmacy. We will not be moving into Inkley’s location. We are sorry this did not work out.”
On Friday, Diane Mathews, Patient’s Pharmacy president, told The Post-Journal that after reaching a verbal agreement with a “gentlemen’s handshake,” the deal fell through.
“We had a verbal agreement, but as a small business, we only have so much,” she said.
Earlier this month, Mathews had told The Post-Journal Patient’s Pharmacy was in the process of purchasing the Randolph pharmacy from owner Clair Inkley, who would have continued working at the business, along with the rest of his employees, following the ownership transaction.
Mathews said Patient’s Pharmacy, located at 320 N. Main St., Jamestown, does deliver to the Randolph area for anyone who needs their prescriptions filled. For more information, visit Patient’s Pharmacy Facebook page or ptsrx.com.
