False Alarm: Vehicle Spotted In Water From October Incident

A report of a vehicle in the water prompted a quick response by Falconer first responders Wednesday afternoon. However, it was learned shortly thereafter that the vehicle, a van with its top visible on Cassadaga Creek, had been there since October. A Randolph woman, according to Ellicott police at the time, had left an area of Water Street and entered the creek. The woman was able to get out of the van before it became nearly fully submerged. Crews attempted to get the vehicle out of the water following Wednesday’s false alarm. P-J photo by Katrina Fuller
