A man was taken into custody following a reported strong arm robbery Friday afternoon.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department were alerted around 2:30 p.m. to a man who allegedly demanded money from a clerk at a Winsor Street Dollar General. The man was quickly located nearby, scanner reports indicate.

Jamestown Police Chief Timothy Jackson confirmed a suspect was in custody.

No weapon was reportedly displayed during the robbery.

No further information was available by press time Friday.
