City Man Charged In Robbery Incident

A 60-year-old Jamestown man is facing a third-degree robbery charge after demanding money from a local Dollar General clerk late last week. The Jamestown Police Department said Steven Krause walked into the Winsor Street store around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, put candy in his pocket and “walked towards the cashier and demanded her to give him all the bills in the register.” The cashier handed Krause the money, and the city man then left the store and headed east toward the rail road tracks. He was taken into custody following a pursuit involving officers. Krause was transported to Jamestown City Jail on charges of third-degree robbery and petit larceny.
