Opera House Launches Arts Podcast

FREDONIA – The 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center is creating a new podcast, Notes from the Aisle Seat!

The biweekly podcast is produced and hosted by Tom Loughlin, a Western New York actor, director and SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor and chair emeritus of Theatre and Dance at the State University at Fredonia.

Conceived and sponsored by the Opera House, it will explore all that is happening in the area of the arts in northern Chautauqua County.

The first episode is now available and aptly focuses on the Opera House in an interview with Rick Davis, 1891 Fredonia Opera House executive director, who talks about all the changes that have taken place during the pandemic closure of the past 18 months.

Also featured is an interview with Ekstasis Duo, Eliran Avni and Natasha Farny, who will be performing “From the Shadows…,” a program featuring gems from lesser known composers such as Alma Mahler, George Walker, and others, at the Opera House on Sept. 25.

New episodes will be posted every other Wednesday and will explore the rich landscape of the visual and performing arts that exists in northern Chautauqua County, from the many arts galleries and exhibition spaces to performing arts organizations to individual artists and performers from the area.

Notes from the Aisle Seat can be heard on Podbean at aisleseat.podbean.com and on nearly any device.

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House is a member-supported not-for-profit organization located in Village Hall in Fredonia. A complete schedule of Opera House events is available at www.fredopera.org.
