Man Injured, Charged, In Frewsburg Crash

FREWSBURG — An Allegany town resident was injured and later charged following a vehicle crash Monday night.

According to the Carroll Police Department, around 6 p.m. Nicholas R. Scolton, 25, was traveling northeast on Wheeler Hill Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a sharp curve. Scolton’s vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel, left the roadway and struck a group of trees. He was pinned in the vehicle and needed to be extricated. Because of the extensive vehicle damage, it took about 40 minutes to extricate him.

He was transported to Hamot Medical Center in Erie via Stat Medevac.

Chautauqua County Emergency Medical Services, and the Frewsburg and Kiantone fire departments assisted at the scene.
