Board of Elections Announces 361 Election Inspectors Trained, More Still Needed

Commissioners Luz E. Torres and Brian C. Abram announce that the Chautauqua County Board of Elections has trained 361 Poll Workers for the Nov. 2, general election.

“Our election inspectors are trained annually, we update the workers you see on Election Day with the latest information and changes to the election process,” remarked Commissioner Brian C. Abram.

Dedicated election inspectors are the men and women who help the Board of Elections staff 49 poll sites across Chautauqua County during each election.

“Election workers are always needed in Chautauqua County,” Commissioner Luz E. Torres noted. “If individuals are interested in working on Election Day, they can call the Board of Elections at 753-4580 for further information.”

Poll Workers are paid minimum wage of $12.50 per hour they work on Election Day, in addition to $25 for attending the mandatory annual training session. Poll Workers begin their day at 5 a.m. sharp and will work until around 9:30 p.m. Shorter shifts are available at some poll sites.

“Our workers are the core of the election process,” concluded Abram.
