WARREN, Pa. — The fourth annual K-9 Choper Memorial Golf Tournament is Sunday at Blueberry Hill Golf Course.

The tournament honors Choper, who died on duty in 2018, and supports the needs of K-9 Nic of the Conewango Township Police Department and K-9 Dina of the Warren County Drug Task Force.

“These tournaments are part of our ongoing effort to fund the K-9 project for Warren County and have made is possible for Scott Neiswonger to acquire K-9 Nic and Tom Kibbey to acquire K-9 Dina, and for all of them to go through the required training,” tournament organizer Karen Sobkowski said. “They also support the ongoing expenses associated with the project.”

Funding could add another dog to the county’s law enforcement offices. “In addition to K-9 Nic and K-9 Dina, a process has begun to acquire an Adult Probation Facility Dog, possibly prior to the end of the year.”

“We know the last year has been difficult, for both businesses and individuals alike,” Sobkowski said.

In addition to tournament and hole sponsors and entry fees, the tournament raises funds through a basket raffle. “Baskets will be set up and tickets will be sold for several days prior to the tournament,” she said.

Starting at $3.50/week.
