YMCA Battle Registrations Now Available

The YMCA 33rd annual Battle of the Businesses will take place Sept. 11-18. Informational packets are now available at the Jamestown or Lakewood YMCA.

Registration is currently taking place for the Jamestown Area YMCA’s 33rd annual Battle of Businesses taking place Sept. 11-18.

The annual event, returning after a year off due to the pandemic, consists of two divisions — a large division and small division. The divisions are made up of national and local-area companies, agencies or organizations. The large division consist of those organizations with more than 121 employees and the small division with employees numbering 120 or less.

The Battle of the Businesses pits opposing teams against one another in games, events and challenges with the purpose filled goals of providing a high-quality, low-cost, teambuilding event.

Each year, more than 1,000 employees wearing different colored team T-shirts compete.

Events this year include one-pitch softball, 9-hole golf scramble, bowling, co-ed volleyball, Expresso bike relay, curling, predicted mile walk, women’s miniature golf, Texas hold ’em poker tournament, pickle ball, soccer shoot and score, two-person Scrabble tournament, 2-mile walk/run, corn hole tournament, scavenger hunt, sailing boat race, talent show and cake decorating contest.

The YMCA 33rd annual Battle of the Businesses will take place Sept. 11-18. Informational packets are now available at the Jamestown or Lakewood YMCA.

The weeklong event venues are the Jamestown YMCA, Lakewood YMCA, Bergman Park, Jones and Gifford Park, Maplehurst Country Club, Jamestown Bowling Company, Northwest Arena, Falconer Central School, Warren’s Pro Putt Mini Golf and Richard O. Hartley Park.

Sponsors include BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union and Eventz by Scott.

A team captains meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. at Southern Tier Brewery in Lakewood.
