SINCLAIRVILLE -- Art Kibbe is the latest individual to receive a different kind of birthday party. The 94-year-old was given a huge drive-by parade on Thursday afternoon outside of his Sinclairville home, featuring fire trucks from the Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department, ambulances, four New York State trooper cars, and other residents, neighbors, and friends of Kibbe.
Kibbe has a long history of service, for all different organizations. Kibbe is a World War II veteran, a retired rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and a longtime bus driver for the Cassadaga Valley Central School District.
Following his retirement, he and his wife Bessie became tree farmers, and spent part of each day in the woods. Art is father to six children, grandfather to 16 and great grandfather to 7.
Kibbe, who is also a survivor of COVID-19, attributes his long and fulfilling life to his daily exercise, which included several hours of turkey and deer hunting, and listening to his beloved Polka music.
The family would like to thank their friends, neighbors, members of the Fire Department, and the community as a whole for helping Kibbe celebrate his birthday, despite the circumstances put in place by the pandemic.
