Probe In Crash That Injured Pedestrian Ongoing

A woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle as she crossed the road in the city of Jamestown. An investigation into the Monday crash remains ongoing, Jamestown police said. The 70-year-old woman was crossing in the area of 1370 E. Second St. around 6 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle. The unidentified pedestrian was taken by ambulance to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment of serious injuries and later moved to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. An update was not known Thursday. The driver of the vehicle has been cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been filed. Jamestown police are being assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
