Giving Tuesday Is Today
Community Helping Hands is one of many local nonprofits who will be participating in Giving Tuesday today.
Mayor Edward Sundquist will join Community Helping Hands at 10 a.m. today as the agency participates in an online campaign featuring the voices of clients, staff, board members and volunteers alike.
“We’re going to invite our community into our organization’s ‘living room,’ so to speak, to take a closer look at what we do and how it’s driving impact, and we’re going to do it all digitally, which will be a first for us. I’m excited to try something new out and give our followers on social media the opportunity to hear from the inside out about the mission and vision of Community Helping Hands,” said Katie Castro, board president.
The social media campaign will include giveaways, activities, interviews, and a special statement from Sundquist.
“Generosity has never been more important than right now, in the middle of a pandemic,” Castro said. “Jamestown loves a challenge — we’re people of grit, grace, and incredible resiliency. This is a time for all of us to put our hands together and help our local nonprofits as they move our community toward flourishing.”
