A Sweet Sunday

Marvin House To Hold Open House, Cookie Sale Sunday

The coffee pot will be on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Marvin House when the house hosts a cookie sale open house at 2 W. Fifth St., Jamestown.

Trays consist of a variety of traditional homemade Christmas cookies. Small, medium or large decorated trays are available. Prices range from $15 to $25.

The open house will also debut the Marvin House’s Culinary Creations cookbook. The 200-page collection of recipes, offered by Friends of the Marvin House, will be available at a cost of $16.

Proceeds benefit the preservation of the Marvin House.

The Marvin House is considered the best “shingle-style” structure in Chautauqua County and is given a Priority 1 rating, of those that should be preserved under any circumstances. Today, it stands as an example of Jamestown’s architecture and life in early the 1900s. For more information, visit www.marvinhouse.com
