Rotary To Hold Gold Rush Virtual Event

On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. the Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville will hold its virtual Gold Rush event, a charity fundraiser to raise $2,400 in student scholarships and $2,000 for various community service projects.

A few of the 250 tickets remain for this reverse draw giveaway for the grand prize of $1,000, second prize of a 40-inch smart TV, third prize of $100, as well as many gift certificates to area businesses.

“Ticket sales have been brisk,” said Tracy Bennett, Gold Rush co-chair. “Any adults of the ages of 18 and older who have not yet purchased their tickets, should do so now, before the tickets are sold out.”

Tickets are $25 each or five tickets for $100. They may be purchased by contacting Bennett at tbennett@fairpoint.net or 326-3800, or any Westfield-Mayville Rotarian.

“Proceeds from this event will fund scholarships for high school students in the Brocton, Chautauqua Lake, Sherman and Westfield school districts,” said Dan Smith, Gold Rush co-chair. “Also, the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club will use part of the proceeds to support service projects in the five communities that it serves, which are Brocton, Mayville, Ripley, Sherman and Westfield.”

Ticket holders need not be present to win. Winners will be announced on Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. via both Facebook Live and Zoom.

Details are on each ticket.
