Operation Back the Blue Round Two is in full swing at Lady of the Lake in Fredonia.

“We had such a great response from Operation Back the Blue in Chautauqua County so people continued to bring in donations. So now we’re doing Operation Back the Blue Round Two and we’re doing Erie County,” said organizer Patty Valentine. “People can drop off anything like hand sanitizer, cereal bars, mini kleenex, snack packs, hair ties, dog treats, anything and everything would help.”

Operation Back the Blue is a project set up by Valentine to show support of law enforcement by donating care packages to officers around the area. The first Back the Blue campaign was held in September and donated to all the police departments within Chautauqua County.

The shop is currently taking donations through Oct. 24. The group is also selling a variety of Back the Blue merchandise in the front of the store that was all donated. Merchandise includes lawn signs, masks and flags among other things; all proceeds from sales will go to buy more merchandise for the “thank you” bags.

Volunteers are needed to come into the store and stuff bags as well as drivers for deliveries. Bag stuffers will be needed Oct. 25 and can meet at Lady of the Lake in Fredonia at 10 a.m. Bag deliveries will happen on Oct. 26.
