17 New COVID Cases Reported By Health Dept.

Seventeen new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday by the Chautauqua County Health Department, increasing the number of active cases to 68.

Six of the new cases are located in Dunkirk with four in Jamestown. Other positive test locations included: two in Fredonia and Lakewood and one case in Irving, Findley Lake and Frewsburg. There are 313 cases under quarantine/isolation orders by the public health director and being monitored. Twenty-two others are under domestic traveler quarantine for having arrived to Chautauqua County from a state listed on the New York state travel advisory.

As of Tuesday, there were five people hospitalized.

In all, the county reports: 646 recovered cases; 13 deaths; 727 total confirmed cases; and 48,720 negative test results.

In Cattaraugus County, there remained 42 active cases and 270 total confirmed cases as of 6 p.m. Thursday. To date, 218 people had recovered from the virus.

In addition, 58 county residents were in precautionary quarantine, 248 were in mandatory quarantine and 33,500 tests for COVID-19 administered.
