FALCONER — After 39 years of service with the Falconer Department of Public Works, superintendent Peter Fuller celebrated his retirement with a luncheon recently.
Fuller was presented with a certificate by the village, a letter of commendation from Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel honoring his commitment to the community and a plaque from Ellicott Police Chief William Ohnmeiss Jr.
Fuller joined the department in 1981 and was named superintendent in 2016.
“Peter has done an outstanding job for us,” Falconer Mayor Jim Jaroszynski said in August. “The board and I could not be more wishing Peter well on his retirement. He was an asset to the village.”
Fuller said that one of the things he will remember most fondly from his years on the job is getting to know the routines of Falconer residents.
“I know a lot of people’s routines,” he said. “If that person is not supposed to be there at that time of day there is problem. I know, ‘This person goes to work at this time and that person goes home at that time.’ If my aunt’s garage door is not open there is something wrong there. You get to know the village. I enjoy it here, that is why I stayed here.”
