BROCTON — A family was displaced by a fire that broke out early Tuesday.

The blaze at 6037 Route 5, the New Horizons Mobile Home Park, was reported to Chautauqua County dispatch shortly after 7 a.m. Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the area before firefighters arrived.

Volunteers from Brocton, Portland, West Dunkirk and Westfield responded to the fire, located in a residence at the 24th lot within the mobile home park.

The trailer was a complete loss.

The family, consisting of two adults and three young children, were not injured in the fire and are currently being assisted by the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

Capt. Rich Telford of the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team said the fire is being ruled as undetermined. He noted that investigators were able to determine where the fire began but could not determine a source.
