Riverfront Panel To Meet Today

The Jamestown Riverfront Management Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the McCrea Point Park pavilion. Items on the agenda include an update on the city’s new skate park. The public is welcome to attend. Those attending must wear masks.

Farmers’ Market To Be Open

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Chautauqua Avenue and West Summit Street, Lakewood.

Chamber Offer Two Concerts

MAYVILLE — The Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce is offering two upcoming concerts in the park at Mayville Lakeside Park. The first will be Pat Cook and Friends on Thursday. The second is Bob Henry and the Growlers on Aug. 20. Concerts are free to attend and will be held at the Gazebo at Lakeside Park. Those attending must bring their own seating.

Fluvanna Library To Hold Book Sale Thurs., Fri.

The Fluvanna Free Library, 3532 Fluvanna Ave., will hold its summer book sale Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon-3 p.m. The bag sale is on Sunday. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks or face coverings must be worn at all times. Gloves will be provided to all persons entering the book sale tent to browse books. The library is no longer accepting donations of books or other materials for the sale. The library will also have its bake sale on Friday during book sale hours and a hot dog roast available Friday and Saturday beginning at 11a.m. Though the library is closed to the public during the book sale, it will still offer curbside delivery for patrons requesting materials in advance. Reed’s Staff To Be In Fredonia

FREDONIA — A member of U.S. Rep. Tom Reed’s staff will be at the Fredonia Village Hall, 9-11 Church St., Fredonia, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. Staff will be available to answer questions, gather feedback, and provide assistance with immigration, Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and other issues related to federal agencies. Soil, Water Board Sets Meeting

The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown. The public is invited to attend.

Historical Society To Hold Amish Folk Art Classes

LEON — The Leon Historical Society will host Amish folk art classes on Aug. 29. Those attending will applique sunflowers on hand towels and pot holders.
