Boys & Girls Club Offering Summer Day Camp

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club is offering summer day camp at 62 Allen St. The camp will run July 6 through August 21.

There is a full day option for working parents with drop off between 7:30 8:30 a.m. (no late drop off). . The cost for the full day is $100/week with some scholarships, camperships and childcare subsidies available for those who qualify.

The half day option is drop off between noon and 12:30 p.m. (no late drop off). The cost for the half day option is $50/week with some scholarships, camperships and childcare subsidies available for those who qualify.

Pick up is no later than 5:15 p.m. for both programs.

Jeff Kroon, executive director, stated, “The club has been working diligently to follow all CDC and State guidelines to provide the safest, cleanest environment for all staff and club members.” A maximum of nine members will be with two staff, maintaining consistency as much as possible. Members will maintain social distancing while engaging in activities throughout the building. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are provided. Swimming will begin the week of July 13.

Campers and their counselors will follow a rotating schedule to ensure they can participate in a variety of activities in a safe manner.

There will be no drop in for members ages 5-12 for the summer. Everyone in this age group must be registered for camp before attending.

The Club is partnering with the YMCA to be an open lunch site for the summer. They will be providing take and go breakfasts and lunches outside the community room doors from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is for any area youth. Parents are permitted to pick up meals for their children.

Teens ages 13-18 (still in school) may attend in the afternoons from 3-5 p.m. They will have limited access to areas of the building and must follow the direction of the staff and maintain social distancing and other safety precautions.

For summer adults members may swim (only area open to them) between 7 a.m. to noon by reservation only with a limited number of adults during each session. Adults may be in the building for 45 minutes total (swim and changing) in order to sanitize the areas in between groups.
