The Jamestown Police Department is looking into a fire that damaged a batting cage at a city park. The damage at Bergman Park was discovered by city parks department staff Monday morning. The batting cage, specifically the netting and structural supports, was still smoldering upon discovery. In a news release, Jamestown police believe the fire was intentionally set. Investigators are examining video from the park in an attempt to identify those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call JPD at 483-7537 or through the anonymous tip line at 483-TIPS (8477). All tips are kept confidential.
