Drugs, Cash Seized In City Traffic Stop

Drugs and cash were seized, and a Jamestown man charged, following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

The Jamestown Police Department on Thursday announced the arrest of 45-year-old Blake D. Smith during a stop around 1:55 p.m. at Lakeview Avenue and Chestnut Street.

Officers were assisted in the stop by members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and New York State Police K-9 Unit.

Police reportedly found 5.7 grams of marijuana, eight fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, MDMA and $6,159 in cash.

Smith was taken into custody and held for arraignment on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
