KENNEDY — A shelter in place warning was issued Tuesday near Kennedy.

Few details were made available regarding the incident, though the warning issued by the New York State Police around 5:15 p.m. included Route 394, between Route 62 and Wheelock Road, in the town of Poland. A portion of Route 394 was closed to traffic in both directions due to “an incident,” an alert issued around 5 p.m. indicated.

Kennedy volunteer firefighters and county EMS were asked to standby at the nearby fire hall to possibly assist troopers.
