A report of a dog wandering on a frozen Chautauqua Lake near Celoron prompted a response Thursday morning from members of the Celoron Volunteer Fire Department. Crews were alerted that the dog was on the ice around 11 a.m. The fire department responded with its water rescue equipment and attempted to track the animal on shore as it remained on the ice. The dog wandered toward the Lakewood area and was believed to have made it off the ice around 12:20 p.m.
