Community Foundations To Host Photo Contest

The Chautauqua Region and Northern Chautauqua Community Foundations are hosting a photo contest to celebrate the third year of Give Big CHQ.

To celebrate the third year of Give Big CHQ, the region’s only 24-hour day of giving, the Chautauqua Region and Northern Chautauqua Community Foundations are hosting a photo contest.

“We want to see what people love about Chautauqua County,” said Diane Hannum, NCCF executive director. “From our region’s natural beauty and countless landmarks to the numerous community events and people who make up our communities, we want to see it all.”

Photos will be accepted from Jan. 15-31 via a link on the Give Big CHQ Facebook page.

After the submission period has ended, the Foundations will select 12 photographs for a public vote.

From Feb. 10 to 13, the Give Big CHQ Facebook page will feature a photo album with the selected finalists.

The public will then vote for their favorites by liking the photos that best capture the spirit of Chautauqua County.

On Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, the Foundations will announce the top three photographs. The Foundations will also present $500, $250 and $100 to the winning photographers’ favorite local charities in their honor.

“We’ve seen the way Give Big CHQ unites people around organizations and causes they care about, said Tory Irgang, CRCF executive director. “We hope this contest does the same.”

In addition to winning a monetary prize, submitted photos could be used to highlight local nonprofit organizations and causes in Give Big CHQ 2020 marketing materials.

For more information, contact CRCF at 661-3390 or NCCF at 366-4892.
