Jamestown police were looking into a possible drive-by shooting that took place Christmas Day.

Officers were first alerted to the possible shooting around 4 p.m. in the area of Newland Avenue. A witness told county dispatch that two vehicles, a dark-colored SUV and a silver sedan, may have been involved and that a nearby window had been struck.

No injuries were reported.

Later on, another witness told officers that one of the vehicles may have been chasing the other when four to five shots were heard in an area east of Forest Avenue.

One officer reported finding broken glass in the 600 block of Newland Avenue.

No further information was available by press time Wednesday.
