Christmas Tree To Be Delivered To Tracy Plaza
If the sight of a giant blue spruce tree puts you in the holiday spirit, then today’s delivery to Tracy Plaza is what you’ve been waiting for.
The city’s Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department, along with the assistance of a crew and crane from the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, will load onto a truck and trailer being provided by Lake Shore Paving the Christmas tree that will be transported to the city Municipal Building, 200 E. Third St., for display on Tracy Plaza for the holiday season.
The harvesting of the 2019 Christmas tree is scheduled to begin this morning at 9 a.m., with the tree arriving at the city Municipal Building at approximately 10 a.m. The tree this year is a 50-foot tall Colorado Blue Spruce that is being donated by the family of Dr. Kenneth and Miranda Erickson.
The tree will be harvested from in front of the former Migliore’s Funeral Home, 415 E. Fourth St. The building now serves as the new home to Erickson’s Chiropractic Office and Health & Wellness Center.
Following the installation of the tree on Tracy Plaza, more that 3,000 energy efficient LED lights will be placed on the tree by Parks Department staff members.
The lighting of the tree will be at the start of the city of Jamestown Holiday Parade at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.
