BARCELONA — Production crews for “A Quiet Place 2” have begun setting up in Barcelona Harbor in Westfield.
A sign at the location said the pier and harbor will be closed from today through Saturday.
At least some of the filming for the science fiction horror sequel will reportedly take place at night. Director John Krasinski will also be on location.
A person connected to the crew said one of the stunts to be filmed in the harbor include blowing up a boat.
Once filming is completed in Westfield, production is expected to head to New Paltz, N.Y., where scenes were filmed for the first movie.

The Westfield Town Board in August approved a location agreement with Paramount Pictures for use of the harbor and pier for the sequel, set to be released in March 2020.
“We’re all very excited to have our harbor chosen for this film,” said Martha Bills, Westfield town supervisor. “We’ve known for several months now that they were looking for a spot to film. We think this is great news.”
Bills said she is also excited for local businesses that might benefit from the production.
“I think this is going to be great for us,” she said. “It’s going to be fun seeing our community in a major motion picture, and we look forward to seeing everyone come to Westfield. We think it’s going to have a very positive impact.”
