A new sign at Jamestown High School was recently donated by the Class of 2016.

Class advisers, Monte Lawson and Ashley Noon, along with class representatives, Sydney Deppas, Maddie Dineen, Cameron Hurst and Kate Tucker, and Kristie Voty from Chautauqua Sign Company Inc., presented the new sign to JHS Principal Dr. Rosemary Bradley and JPS Success Academy Principal Dr. Mike McElrath.

“We were so happy with how the sign turned out,” said the Class of 2016 representatives. “We decided, as a class when we graduated, that we wanted to donate a new sign to the school to leave a lasting legacy and a real impact on the school we love. We are thrilled with how wonderful the sign looks, its visibility is to the community and the fact that it lights up at night. We were happy to be able to honor our commitment to give this sign as our class gift.”

Kristie Voty from Chautauqua Sign Company helped the Class of 2016 design the new sign within their budget.

“I am really pleased with the JHS sign,” said Mrs. Voty, who is also a JHS alumna.

“The six-feet letters are the tallest ones we have produced to date. They are LED illuminated, making a real statement on the front of the high school. I enjoyed working on this project so much and giving back to the community and JHS.”

The Class of 2016 Advisers, Mrs. Noon and Mr. Lawson, are very proud of their former students who honored their commitment.

“This class worked very hard to fundraise during their four years at JHS,” said the advisors. “It does not surprise us that they gifted this beautiful sign to the high school. Throughout their time at JHS, they helped so many local causes in the community. They are just a great group of young adults and we are very proud of them.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
