FALCONER — Through the Falconer Region Community Fund grants process, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation awarded more than $7,000 to 10 local organizations.

Grants were awarded to Ellington Farman Library for summer reading; Falconer Central School to create a sensory path at Temple Elementary School; Falconer Little League for concession stand equipment; Impact Campus Fellowship for student outreach; Kennedy First United Methodist Church for rugs and coat racks; Kennedy Free Library for community programming; Our Lady of Loreto for VBS and building improvements; Volunteer Fireman’s Association of Falconer for CPR training equipment; Village of Falconer on behalf of Falconer Kiwanis for the bike rodeo and the YMCA for aquatic safety for Falconer students.

Funding for these projects was made possible by the Falconer Region Community Fund, Donald R. Swanson Memorial Fund, Blossom Fund and Karl Peterson Field of Interest Fund. In 2018, a sizeable gift to the Community Foundation from the Board of Directors of the former Methodist Gardens was also placed in the Falconer Region Community Fund to support future grantmaking.

Each year, this grants process provides financial assistance to charitable projects and needs associated with nonprofit organizations, churches and public entities located within the Falconer Central School District.
