After opening to steady success last July, the Moran’s Furniture Showroom is now exclusively providing Ashley HomeStore furniture.

The Moran’s Floor Store, operating for almost 20 years in the Jamestown area, began offering furniture products out of a separate storefront known as the Moran’s Furniture Showroom last summer. Now an Ashley HomeStore at 2184 Foote Ave., Bruce Moran, store owner, said the individual business observed a steady incline of customers after its initial opening.

With the successful open, Bruce Moran said he and co-owner Mike Moran began talking with Ashley HomeStore representatives about possibly becoming an exclusive provider of their products last fall. At the beginning of May, the local furniture store temporarily closed to transition into Ashley Home Store. The store is still locally owned by Bruce Moran and The reopened furniture provider held a soft opening on May 20 with its grand opening and official ribbon cutting held Wednesday.

George Borrello, county executive; Todd Tranum, Chamber of Commerce president and CEO; and Joanna Dahlbeck, Community Chamber coordinator, attended the ceremony to commemorate the store’s remodeling and rebranding.

“I’m happy to be here to see another local small business expand,” Borrello said. “I think it’s unique that they not only are able to bring the Ashley brand to this facility, but now also still have a local impact.”

Bruce Moran said the transition helps the Moran’s business compete with larger companies in the area. With the Ashley brand and interior design of the reopened building, he believes customers will have a far better experience. The inside of the new Ashley HomeStore is set up in specific lifestyle themes providing convenience for consumers. He admitted the previous iteration of the store was not up to par with the current arrangement.

“I thought they had a lot more experience than I so I think that’s going to work to our advantage,” he said of the collaboration.

While the showroom just opened last year, the Moran’s Floor Store has sold furniture for nine years out of the original building. After much success selling furniture, a separate store was set up to sell just that. And now again, Moran’s business is adapting to its own success as it transitioned into the sole Ashley HomeStore in the region.

Morgan Moran, store manager, said the business will now be able to offer the community many more products as well as have access to exclusive merchandise from the Ashley inventory. She estimated that the showroom is filled with five times more product than before. Overall, Morgan Moran said the shift was “for the customer.”

“We can showcase a lot more,” she said. “We can showcase different lifestyles for people that want different themes in their homes. The benefit for us is the same for the customers. We can show them in store so they can feel, sit on, look at the furniture. I think it’s going to help traffic flow for us.”

Morgan Moran said the key change is that customers will be able to “envision” their future living room when they visit the new Ashley HomeStore.
