Two Gerry Residents Searched, Charged

GERRY — Two Gerry residents have been charged after a search warrant was served at their Wilson Street home at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a police report, Richard Sendall, 34, of 3022 Wilson St., Gerry, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, with additional charges possible later as the result of items found when a search warrant for the home was executed. Amanda Sendall, 33, of 3022 Wilson St., Gerry, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a drug paraphernalia and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.

At 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Chautauqua County probation officers saw Richard Sendall, who was wanted after an indictment had been issued by Chautauqua County Court, at his home. Sendall barricaded himself in the home.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies, New York state troopers and members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force all assisted at the scene.

Eventually, Sendall came out of the home and was arrested without further incident. During the course of the incident, drug paraphernalia was seen in the home which resulted in the issuance of a search warrant for the home.

Deputies allegedly found a quantity of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia which led to charges against Sendall. She will be in Gerry Town Court later.
