Salamanca Man Who Fled After Stabbing Is Arrested
LITTLE VALLEY — A Salamanca man who fled to Las Vegas following a stabbing in Salamanca is facing second-degree murder charges.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of the 22-year-old, though his name was not released. The Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the death of 22-year-old Juwaan Holt of Buffalo that took place at a Broad Street home in Salamanca.
The date of the stabbing was not released. However, the Sheriff’s Office said the suspect stabbed Holt in the abdomen, resulting in his death.
The suspect reportedly fled to Las Vegas after the incident where he was later taken into custody without incident. The 22-year-old is currently awaiting extradition back to Cattaraugus County on the second-degree murder charge.
“The investigation is continuing and further charges may be coming,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. “It also should be noted that this was an isolated incident. The suspect is in custody, and there is no current danger to the public.”
