KENNEDY — The Kennedy Fire Hall came alive with holiday spirit recently as Santa arrived on a fire truck to visit with all his friends in the town of Poland.

Children of all ages enjoyed seeing Santa and telling him their Christmas wishes. Each got a gift from Santa and their picture taken.

Calvert Baker had his miniature horse, Easter Lilly, at the party to perform tricks and meet with her fans.

The annual Christmas party, hosted by the town of Poland Recreation Committee, included a hayride around downtown Kennedy. Tom Ormond once again brought his tractor and a hay wagon with bales of hay for seats. Many fans went for more than one ride.

Cookies, hot cocoa and chili were all part of the festivities. The hot refreshments were very much enjoyed after being outside in the cold.

All events were free, and this annual tradition has been a well-anticipated event for several generations. Santa said that he really enjoyed being able to come to Kennedy, and his fans thanked the Recreation Committee volunteers for putting together a good time for everyone.
