City Man Charged After Dispute
A Jamestown man was charged after a woman was found by police lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
Officers with the Jamestown Police Department were called at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to a home on Broadhead Avenue for a reported domestic dispute involving 45-year-old Carl L. Settle and a woman. Upon arrival, officers reported finding the woman lying face down in the kitchen.
The woman regained consciousness when EMS arrived; she was transported to UPMC Chautauqua hospital for treatment.
An investigation found that Settle allegedly held the woman on a couch, placing his forearm on her throat. Settle also ripped a steak knife from the woman’s hands while in the kitchen, causing a laceration to her right hand.
Settle was charged with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
He was transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident, Jamestown police said.
