Park Wins Villenova Town Seat On Absentee Ballots

VILLENOVA — A 13-4 advantage in absentee ballots has led to Yvonne Park winning the seat on the Villenova Town Board. The results were announced Monday afternoon by the county Board of Elections.

Before the absentee tallies both Park and John Dudley Robinson Sr. recorded 190 votes each. Each candidate also received one vote from an unscanned form from Election Day on Nov. 6.

In August, Park, former town supervisor, was appointed to the council after Councilman Wesley Tessey unexpectedly resigned.

In Mayville, Ken Shearer Jr. was confirmed village mayor after all absentee ballots were counted. Shearer received an additional 29 votes to add to his 297 votes he received on Election Day.

Shearer, a Democrat, defeated Republican Richard Syper by a total of 326 votes to 278 votes after all ballots were counted.

Starting at $3.50/week.
