Ellington Church To Hold Concert
ELLINGTON — The Ellington Community Church will host the Mountain Railroad Band at 3 p.m. Sunday. The band includes Frank Jesmer, Maurice Brown, Bill Frost and Cecil Miller. Refreshments will follow the concert. The church is handicapped-accessible.
Yoga In Cemetery Set For Saturday
A one-hour yoga session will be held in the Wildwood Section of Lake View Cemetery on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. Karen Hansen of Sun Moon Yoga will be the instructor. This class is for anyone 8 years old and up and all levels of experience are welcome. Please meet at the cemetery office at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Buffalo Street. Participants should bring a yoga mat or beach towel and a drink bottle. Donations, benefiting local food pantries, will be accepted.

Hold Open House
Lake View Cemetery will be holding an open house on Saturday from noon-4 p.m. Staff will be available to answer any cemetery related questions, locate family members buried at the cemetery and show available plots for sale. Vince Liuzzo, “The Tree Guy” will be on hand to do chain saw carving. Sculptor Isaiah Rashad will speak about the Allen monument which he recently repaired. Anyone purchasing grave spaces will receive a 10 percent discount if payment is made in full at the time of purchase. Lake View Cemetery is celebrating 160 years of service to the Jamestown community.
JCC Inks SUNY Fredonia Pact
Jamestown Community College has signed articulation agreements with the State University at Fredonia’s early childhood and childhood education degree program and Wells College’s environmental science degree program. Students who graduate from JCC’s teacher education transfer programs in early childhood education or childhood education are guaranteed acceptance with junior standing into SUNY Fredonia’s program. Students must also meet a minimum cumulative grade point average requirement. The Wells College agreement guarantees junior standing to JCC students who graduate with an associate’s degree in environmental science and who attain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at JCC. Orchestra To Perform Sunday
The Jamestown Area Community Orchestra will present its fall concert at First Covenant Church in Jamestown on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m. The concert will be directed by guest conductor John Cross, and will include a variety of old and new, classical and pop numbers, including Mozart’s “Symphony in G Minor,” Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony in C,” music from “West Side Story,” “Wicked” and “Go West,” among other selections. It is a free concert, with a free-will donation gratefully accepted.
County Health Board To Meet
