CVS Bus Accident Results In No Injuries
ARKWRIGHT — On Friday morning at 6:55 a.m. on Bard Road, a Cassadaga Valley Central School bus was struck by a vehicle, which resulted in a minor accident.
According to a statement released by Superintendent of Schools Chuck Leichner, “In the process of making a turn at a scheduled turn around, a car drove into the front right tire of the bus. The bus had all the appropriate lights on and was following approved protocols. At the time of the incident, there were 13 students on the bus.” Cassadaga Fire and Rescue and New York State Police responded to the scene and took typical precautionary measures.
Leichner reported no children on the bus or passengers in the vehicle were injured and no damage was done to the bus. Two children were taken to the hospital to be checked out at the request of the parent. The school nurse performed safety checks on each child when they returned to school before going to class.
The only result of the accident was a slight marking on the bus tire. According to the statement released by the school district, “Our transportation staff and school administration were involved from the moment the driver contacted the bus garage. The NYS Troopers on the scene cleared the situation and released the students to return to school.”
