Samantha Sayers

Samantha Sayers, recent SUNY Fredonia graduate, embarked on a solo hike last week through the North Cascade Mountains of Washington park near Granite Falls. She has not been heard from since.

She has been reported missing and was last seen on Aug. 1. The Erie, Pa. native “worked with a lot of young people at the Playground Drama Day Camp at the college for years, even after graduation,” said Fredonia native Richard Newton.

According to a Facebook page #findsamsayers, Sayers “is an experienced hiker” and though completely bald, “she has alopecia, not cancer and is very healthy.

Search and rescue, SNOHAWK1, at least three K-9 teams and over 100 search and rescue volunteers continue to search.”

Friends and family of Sam Sayers are in need of money and supplies to continue and expand the search.

Sayers is a 2013 graduate of SUNY Fredonia. She earned her bachelor’s degree in technical theatre/theatre design and technology.
