CELORON — No injuries were reported after a boat fire was reported in Celoron on Wednesday.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit was summoned near the boat launch in Celoron for the fire around 7:45 p.m. A vessel with the Marine Unit, along with the Celoron Fire Department, responded to the fire.

The fire was doused with an extinguisher prior to the arrival of first responders, the Sheriff’s Office said Thursday in a press release.

“The occupants were assisted by another friendly boater,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

The disabled boat was towed to the shore by the Marine Unit. The cause of the fire wasn’t released Thursday.
