Who said there is no such thing as a free lunch? Dozens of customers waited in front of the Foote Avenue Little Caesar’s on Monday for a free four-slice deep dish pizza and a soda thanks to the company’s vow to serve America free lunch if a No. 16 seed defeated a No.1 seed during the NCAA basketball tournament. The University of Maryland Baltimore County’s Retrievers defeated the Virginia Cavaliers on March 16, and became the first 16 seed to beat a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. At the Jamestown Foote Avenue location, workers were prepared with the boxed lunches ready to go.
